The Museum of Anthropology is a massive museum filled with native ancient relics, but housed in an ultra modern building by famous Mexican architect Pedro Ramírez Vázquez.

There is so much amazing art and architecture in Mexico City. While you’re visiting, you can take a tour of Casa Gilardi, a house that was built in 1976 by famous Mexican architect Luis Barragán. It was the last project he completed before he died in 1988. Luis Barragán's work has been highly influential to contemporary artists. The Museum of Popular Art is a multi-level presentation of Mexican folk art, with a gorgeous glass ceiling that has artistic kites hanging down. The art here is 3D and colorful, showcasing all kinds of whimsical creatures and tales of Mexico's folkloric past.

Desert Christ Park is a museum of sculptures located on the hillside of Yucca Valley. There are more than 40 large white biblical statues here sculpted by Frank Antone Martin.

For the last 15 years of his life, Noah created ten acres full of art installations in the desert. Everything is constructed from junked objects and materials.

In Joshua Tree right off Highway 62 there are cute metal dinosaur art installations on the side of the road that are free to visit. There's a gold mom and baby Brontosaurus, and two toothy meat-eaters. These dinosaurs were added in front of Desert View Homes to attract attention. They are also a fun stop for a quick snapshot if your visiting Joshua Tree National Park.

Along the 395 between Grant and Olancha there is an array of sculptures on the west side of the highway. You can see them from the road and turn off to explore.

The World Famous Crochet Museum is a cute and quirky destination in downtown Joshua Tree. Shari Elf, a local artist, has created a whimsical world of crochet, screen printed clothing, patches, and other forms of art.

Elmer’s bottle tree ranch is just off highway 40 on Route 66. It’s a plot of land filled will artistic trees made from old collected bottles and found objects. Elmer inherited these bottles from his father who collected them and other antiques. He turned this junk into over 200 art installations free for all to explore.

If I could describe Burning Man in one word it'd be "surreal." In fact, the whole festival feels a bit like stepping into a Dali painting. I admit, I was skeptical even through my first day and half of being there. Now I'm convinced it's one of those experiences that you'll covet forever. 

Salvation Mountain is a great work of art by the late Leonard Knight. It’s quite a beautiful site, vibrant and colorful against the desert landscape.
