2019: A Year in Review
2019 was a year of many firsts: first Safari, first time snowmobiling, first time to visiting the Balkins, and first time hosting a Sofar Sounds music show. We also started a garage conversion project, so it’s the first time we’re working on a new construction project. In between the travel and construction I’ve been working on brand development for 3 companies: Powerstop, Snyder Diamond, and Hempz. It’s been a fun ride and I’m excited for what’s to come this year in 2020!
Went on an unforgettable African Safari
Alex Walker’s Serian was even more impactful than I could’ve ever imagined. Seeing animals in their natural habitats was an experience I won’t soon forget.
Worked on 3 Brand Development & Site Redesign Projects:
Powerstop, Snyder Diamond, and Hempz
Went snowmobiling for the first time in Utah
We initially went to Park City to snowboard, but the runs were closed to we went snowmobiling instead. It was so amazing hitting the trails on these superpowered machines, causing along the white snowy mountains at full speed!
Had my 20 Year High School Reunion (OMG! I’m old)
It’s been 20 years since high school. Wow! Can. Not. Believe. It was great hanging out with my crew (we’re still friends), and seeing some old acquaintances as well.
Experienced a Midsummer Night’s Dream 50th Birthday Party in Provence at a UNESCO site
My husband Adam’s co-worker went big for his 50th birthday. Provence France big! We spent 3 days celebrating at a UNESCO World Heritage site with plentiful wine, music, and good company.
Went on a Road Trip through the Balkins
Our friends recently moved to Kosovo, so we decided to visit them and go on a Balkins road trip. We started in Montenegro, then drove through Albania to Kosovo. From Kosovo, we took a day trip to North Montenegro. I never would’ve imagined going on such a trip because they aren’t well traveled destinations, but it was a great experience!
Relaxed in the Adirondacks at Lake Clear
Our friend Ryan’s parents have a beautiful lakeside home they shared with us for a week of relaxation.
Created a massive mural in our backyard
After staring at an old ugly wall in our backyard for year’s, I took advantage of some down time with work and created this mural.
Hosted a Sofar Sounds Show (finally!)
Sofar Sounds is an amazing organization who sets up music shows at offices and homes. We hosted a few shows this summer, inviting many strangers over to come and enjoy music in our own backyard. Magical.
Went on a road trip to Yosemite
My friend Jenna and I went on a Basin & Rage sponsored journey to Yosemite National Park to do some hiking and exploring during the fall leaf season.
Started a Garage Conversion
My husband and I have been wanted to convert our garage into an in-law unit ever since we bought our place four years ago. Currently a work in progress, we’ll hopefully be finishing by the end of March 2020.
Spent New Years in Belize (Again!)
We spent New Year’s in Belize in 2014, and decided to head back to this Caribbean gem to spend time out on the water enjoying the sunshine in Dec/Jan. The water is always my favorite place to be!
