4 days in Tokyo
It was bone chilling cold at times, at least for this SoCal girl. We got some rain and even a bit of snow, but it was a great trip exploring both Tokyo and Kyoto, two very different Japanese cities.
Visit the Ghost Town of Amboy
The ghost town of Amboy was once a major stop along Route 66 until Interstate 40 was opened. The city only has 10 remaining buildings, Roy's gas station and motel cafe being the biggest landmarks. You can stop in for a Root Beer and wander through some of the abandoned hotel rooms with art installations.
Red Rock Canyon
Red rock canyon lies right off the 14 and features gorgeous multi-colored rock formations. The facade is swirling mix of reds and whites. The park is located where the southernmost tip of the Sierra Nevada converges with the El Paso Mountains.
My Favorite Five: Paris
Besides the obvious Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Arc De Triomphe, and Notredame, I recommend these 5 things that were highlights of my past trips to the "city of lights."
A Summer Weekend at Mammoth Lakes
Experience Mammoth Lakes for a weekend summer trip. Instead of a relaxing in a cabin with hot totties and hot tubs, switch it up and go tent camping and enjoy the sunshine under the stars.
SoFar Sounds Poster Design: 06.26
I've been doing Sofar Sounds posters for over a year now. I was very excited when this new project came up, to design a poster for Cold War Kids playing at Union Station, Los Angeles.
Explore Alabama Hills and hike To Mobius Arch
Alabama Hills is right off highway 395 near the city of Lone Pine. It's a gorgeous stark contrast to the Sierras just beyond it in the landscape. Large sand colored boulders and desert heat beneath the largest snow-capped mountains of California.
My Favorite Five: Maui
Maui is top 5 of my favorite places. I'm a beach kid from Ventura California, so the ocean is always calling my name. I've now been to Maui 4 times, and there are countless amazing things to do on this beautiful island, but here are my top 5.
Elmer's Bottle Tree Ranch
Elmer’s bottle tree ranch is just off highway 40 on Route 66. It’s a plot of land filled will artistic trees made from old collected bottles and found objects. Elmer inherited these bottles from his father who collected them and other antiques. He turned this junk into over 200 art installations free for all to explore.
Home Decor: Modern Ranch
We chose the theme of ranch style with a modern twist. I want it to feel rustic, but still have a desert chic appeal. Mixing blues with rustic woods and worn leather gives it masculine southwest appeal, while adding in some creams and a high contrast black and white print as the centerpiece modernizes the space.
SoFar Sounds Poster Design: 05.26
So Far Sounds L.A. had a show at MV Art Dept in my blossoming neighborhood of Mar Vista. I wanted to mimic the beautifully designed sign as you enter the store. Gorgeous geometric patterns of reclaimed wood, white paint, and steel. I am personally a big fan of MV Art Dept bringing murals and creative workshops to the neighborhood.
