Aruba Plane Wreck Dive

For all you adventure seekers out there, try diving 85 feet with Happy Divers Aruba to this sunken plane off the coast.

This plane, the Antilla, is the largest wreck in the Southern Caribbean, and the most famous dive site in Aruba. It was a German freighter at the start of World War III. The German crew opened its valves and let it sink rather than be confiscated. When we dove this site back in 2014 we could swim through the plane. Now after all these years on the bottom of the sea, the ship has broken down in pieces and you can no longer swim inside. There’s a lot of marine life and coral around it, making it a beautiful and mesmerizing dive site!

Sometimes sinking ships or construction debris is done purposefully to form artificial reefs.
