Experience High Tea at Huntington Gardens among the Roses

The Huntington's Rose Garden High Tea is nestled in the middle of 120 acres of diverse plant life in the Los Angeles suburb, Pasadena. The smell of aromatic tea and freshly baked scones fills the air as you nibble on delicate finger sandwiches and seasonal desserts. From the tea room, you look out over colorful roses blooming in an array of vibrant colors. It’s an aristocratic experience. Pinky’s up!

To Get There

Admission to Huntington Gardens: Adult $25 weekdays /$29 weekends
Children Age 4-11 $13 / Under 4 is free
Even if you have a reservation for high tea, you must still pay for entry to get into Huntington Gardens. Make a day of it so you can spend time seeing the entire grounds.
Reservations: Make them! This place is very busy and walk-ins are accepted, but it doesn’t seem like it’d be easy to get a table. You can make a reservation on Open Table.
High Tea Pricing: Starts at $37 per person. Includes tea selection, house-made scones, delicate finger sandwiches, and seasonal desserts. View the menu
Parking: There is a free large parking area for all visitors
Final seating is 3pm on weekdays and 4pm Sat-Sun

Tip: you can actually bring the scones home in a to-go bag, so don’t fill up and feel obligated to eat too many.

High Tea 

At high tea you can get traditional tea service with rose black tea, jasmine blueberry, green tea and more. An assortment of small bites come on a silver tower and include smoked salmons finger sandwiches, fresh baked scones, quiche, mini tarts and filo dough treats.

As you sip you tea, there is a beautiful view of the rose garden to look out at. Wander around the garden as you wait for a table, or after your reservation to see the large variety of colors.

The rose garden was created in 1908 when Huntington Gardens was a private residence, and they would use the flowers for flowers arrangements to adorn their home. As you walk around, take in the lovely fragrances of all the varietals.
