Go Off-roading in Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park is filled with spectacular vistas and all types of outdoor adventure. We rented a UTV from Glacier Ridge Runners one day to do some off-roading.
There are a few routes to choose from depending on the weather and timing. We took Desert Mountain Loop Trail up high through pine tree forests, cruising at high speeds high above the tree line in the wet mist of June. The trail takes about 2 hours to complete, going up, up into the thick pine trees.
It was incredible, but terrifying when I wasn't driving because there's a cliff edge as you climb the mountain. If you’re like me, and you like to be in charge of your own fate, rent your own car instead of sharing. Also be sure to wear helmets. It’r optional, but after seeing the cliff edges its optimal. Either way, definitely be safe. It's an incredible journey, and very exhilarating if you're an adrenaline junkie like me!
