Hike Ryan Mountain in Joshua Tree

Ryan Mountain is a well marked trail inside Joshua Tree National Park. This is my favorite hike in Joshua Tree because of the expansive top-down view of the park from the 5,457 foot peak. The trail is a steep climb to the summit, 1000 feet in a mile and a half.

Ryan Mountain Hike

When you start this hike, you’ll see some large boulders on the right and stairs leading the way.

There are some really great boulders to explore at this trailhead, this one below looks like a dinosaur to me. Can you see it?

As you climb up the mountain you’ll see expansive views of Joshua Tree National Park.
