There is magic in every sunset
Over the last year I've converted to running my own design business. On this particular trip out to the desert I decided to mix in a little work with pleasure. I brought my new client Brilliant Bicycles out to the desert for a Coachella shoot at sunset by the windmills in Palm Springs. I dragged my good friends Dee and Kristin out for the shoot, along with Kristin's two adorable daughters. After many shots of the colorful bikes, I took some candids of my friends and the girls and happened to catch this magical moment of Dee and Emerson.

If I could describe Burning Man in one word it'd be "surreal." In fact, the whole festival feels a bit like stepping into a Dali painting. I admit, I was skeptical even through my first day and half of being there. Now I'm convinced it's one of those experiences that you'll covet forever.
I've been crushing on Will Leather Goods ever since I moved back to L.A. two years ago and discovered them on Abbot Kinney. I love well made leather products, especially when the vibe matches my SoCal meets Southwest sense of style.
When Angelino's think of the California Desert, they think of Palm Springs. Below I've listed seven other quirky destinations in the high desert, not far from the mid century modern mecca.
